Learning Advices

Be real and patient. Learning a new language needs time and takes a while.
2- Practice as much as you can. Try to use the language you learn regularly. 20-30 minutes short studies are more efficient than studying the language 3 hours everyday.
3- Define a target. Make a weekly, monthly and annual check list for yourself. “I am going to learn 5 words everyday”, “By the end of this month, I will be able to speak both in Past and Future”, “I will be able to make presentations in the target language by the end of this year.”
4- Try to make us of your errors. Make a list of your recurring errors and jot down alternative solutions. Do you homework with one of your classmates and do peer-checking.
5- Make the language you are learning as an inevitable part of your life.

• Watch TV and films or listen to music in target language
• Read texts about the topics you like in target language. Find magazines, newspapers and essays.
• Find a pen pal. Chat and text message in the target language online.
• Try to participate in activities in your town about the target language such as cinema, reading clubs and volunteering activities.
• Find friends who can talk the target language you learn. 3 days a week, speak the target language at least for an hour with your classmate who is also learning the same language. Within these sessions, try to find subjects which are interesting for you both.
• Teach how to cook Turkish Food to your foreign friends. Foreigners are always interested in the cuisine of different cultures; they will learn how to cook when you learn how to speak.
• Prepare a list of your routines such as shopping list, to do lists in target language.
• Search and Read about the country, cultural and traditional features where the target language is spoken.

6- Find a comfortable place and study there always. Make up your mind about when to do your homework and do you homework at that time. Do your homework on time and do not amass your homework. Besides, keep what you have studied in a separate notebook.
7- Go through the lessons you had studied that day before you go to bed. Going through such exercises and reading in the target language enables your brain to be busy with the target language even when you are sleeping.
8- When you exercise, speak loudly, and regularly. Self-speaking can make enable you to pronounce better.
9- Revise the topics regularly and try to make a connection between the things you revised with your real life experiences. Take notes and ask you do not understand.
